About
I am an Instructional Technology Coach from Texas, mother of six, Army Brat and Navy Wife, lover of all things Elizabethan, Shakespeare addict, foodie, word-nerd. I secret wish for a season pass to Shakespeare in the Park in Dallas. I love classic movies and the crooners, cheesy 80′s movies, fine chocolate, logic puzzles, digital scrapbooking, and teaching kids to love English class. I’m a self taught techno-nerd with dreams of winning the lottery so I can afford to buy the very best equipment and then lock myself in a room for a year learning to use it all to benefit kids, teachers, education, and humanity in general. I love to laugh and hate mean people, have an overly developed sense of justice, and I rail against the unfairness that bad people often win. I am afraid of storms, snakes and sharks, and I don’t like to watch scary movies. I’m a total LOTR nerd, and love the Harry Potter books. I’m a voracious reader and my favorite book is The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. I’ve lived on three continents and in three countries, have traveled extensively – thanks to my miltary father & husband – and long desperately to spend time in Ireland learning about my roots. I sport an Irish temper, am only second generation American, and the family name of O’Connell makes me proud. I love to read what other educators are doing with technology, like to help out when and were I can, I vote my conscience rather than my party, and I think the price of movies in the theatres is ridiculuous. I am an unapologetic work-a-holic. I love my family…the great big, loud, silly lot of ‘em, and I love my students ( my OTHER great big, loud, silly family).
I’m sure there’s more…but another time perhaps.
